This was the first of the three Clear Spot shows I saw this week-end, and it was great show.
Better than anyone could reasonably expect. I met a member of the Fireeater List (Beefheart
email group) the following day (at Wychwood) who gave me an email that Mike Barnes, author of
the definitive Beefheart biog, had written. Mike had been sceptical beforehand but was mightily
impressed by the performance.

The recording has come out nice and clear. Only issues are that the vocals aren't quite prominent
enough, and Jenny is two far back in the mix. There is no chit chat to spoil the recording though.

The following day at Wychwood I got another decent recording, but is was marred by the wind. On the
Sunday I think I nailed it with a great recording in Bath. I also got video of the whole of that, so
if I can work out how, a DVD will be in the offing (but I'll put the audio up first).

The Imaginary Band were:
Robyn Hitchcock (Captain Beefheart) - guitar, vocals, harp, arms
Terry Edwards (Zoot Horn Rollo) - guitar
Paul Noble (Roy Estrada/Rockette Morton) - bass
Jenny Adejayan (Winged Eel Fingerling) - cello (guitar/marimba/horn impressions), backing vocals, percussion
Stephen Irvine (Ed Marimba chanelling Drumbo) - drums, handlclaps, percussion

I've included a photo of a setlist I got (hand written on a paper plate) if someone fancies making some
artwork for this.

Turn this one up loud and enjoy! More to follow.....
