Robyn Hitchcock celebrates Bob Dylan's Birthday
Audience recording
by
Tascam Tim
Mastered by Godzgolfball
Stealth mode
Tascam DR 40 using internal mics within bag

Tim sent me the flac of his master which I extracted using xAct.
Despite the recorder being hidden in the bag, it picked up the proceedings remarkably well. However the stealth bag mode meant that there were numerous noises caused by minor movements of the bag rubbing close or onto the mics.

The first set was rather quiet, the second less so, so i split them into two sections .
I did a minor eq mix using a range of audition mastering tools and then cleaned up the master using Adobe Audition. I increased levels on the music in some tracks, removed v loud applause theta strayed over the music itself and finally removed many extraneous noises caused by the mics and the usual barmen collecting drinks, dropped bottles and camera click noises. Overall the audience were attentive and very respectful to the performers.
I prefer this show to the Basement set , the choice of material is superior as are the performances. There is also some inspired banter.
