NOTE:
I originally uploaded this recording on April 7, 2020 (Torrent #673663) and was informed by DIME user goody that the files were out of phase. I did not realize there was an issue but there was and this has been corrected here with this torrent (one channel was INVERTED). Thanks to goody for reaching out and educating me. Apologies to those who downloaded the original.
In addition, I increased the amplitude of the tracks by 1.5 dB. Overall these fixes led to a much better recording.
Comments:
Recorded from the front row of the balcony. The Temple of Music and Art, located in historic downtown Tucson, is a refurbished 1927 theatre, built in the Spanish Colonial style. Capacity is listed as 623 seats. In the 80's and 90's it hosted many fine concerts. More recently it is the home to the Arizona Theatre Company.
After nearly 28 years this recording deserves to see the light of day and has been finally converted to digital. The sit down crowd this evening was well behaved but enthusiastic. Suzzy played the frontwoman and did most of the chatting between songs and I remember she had a great rapport with the audience. It was mid July in Tucson which meant it was both Hot AND Humid (Monsoon Season). This led Suzzy to make a few weather related comments throughout the show.
This is basically a recording of the complete show. The only glitch was right after the tape flip (what a concept!) when the SONY D-6 garbled a little bit of tape, which in your file, is replaced by a fade-in. I have always thought that this was a remarkable show by three super talented musicians and singers. The instruments listed are from memory and may be incomplete. I may have given a cassette copy to my friend who accompanied me that night, but almost assuredly, NO OTHER PERSON HAS HEARD THIS. I do hope that people enjoy it.
RIP Maggie Roche (Jan 21, 2017)
