Rod Stewart
Various Live

All of the "audio rip from pro shot VHS" were done by me, using a standard region 1 VHS
recorder to record the show onto VHS tape, then using an RCA CD recorder connected
to a VHS player via gold RCA cables to record the audio - except the MTV Unplugged,
which I received the VHS tape in a trade. I did rip the audio myself though.

A collection of rare live performances by Rod, ranging from A quality to
D- quality. The MTV performances were the only 3 that were never released
in any official capacity, and are the real treat on here. He screws up the
beginning of GEORGIE and has to redo it. The second try sounds awesome. After
that he asks a girl onto the stage to tell a joke - it's a pretty aweful joke
but I thought I'd include it. FOREVER YOUNG doesn't work so well unplugged,
but I WAS ONLY JOKING is fantastic. Why that and GEORGIE were not included on
Unplugged...and Seated is well beyond me.
IF LOVING YOU IS WRONG is actually a missing track from my No Ready Made Guys
concert with Jeff Beck (Beck does not play on it as far as I know), but his is
an audience recording - it sucks pretty bad but this is a rare version so I
included it.
TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT is from the show Rod recorded to release onto home video, the
Tonight He's Yours tour video and also recorded for the official release Absolutely
Live - HOWEVER - this did not make any official releases. An FM broadcast, it's still
not the best quality but another rare treat to have him and Kim Carnes singing
together.
NEVER MET A GIRL is from one of Rod's 1995 UK shows - a crappy sounding version but
I have never heard of him doing this song other than on this concert.
LOVE TOUCH, IN MY OWN CRAZY WAY, and ANOTHER HEARTACHE are all from various 1986
concerts and were rarely played, other than the 1986 tour (sometimes he would break
into part of or all of LOVE TOUCH during the 1988 tour).
FAITH IN THE HEART - this is the one and only time it's ever been played live.
The VH1 Honors songs are another treat, mainly cause EVERY PICTURE includes Bryan
Adams on guitar and sharing lead vocals. A truely fantastic version.
Lastly, LEAVE VIRGINIA ALONE from Saturday Night Live. As far as I know this is the one and
only time he played this live. A song Tom Petty wrote then gave to Rod for him to record
for his Spanner In The Works album. I believe Petty played this live in concert a few times.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the compilation...!
