What a treat and great surprise this show turned out to be. I remember being on the fence about attending, but when I heard JAE would be playing (and a Quadrophenia rumor), I immediately grabbed some tix. When the Colorado Symphony Orchestra started playing some Quadrophenia during the opening Overture, I knew we were in for something special. The recording itself is a little bassy, but was recorded within the first 10 rows (Red Rocks side note: up until around 2000 ALMOST every Red Rocks show had general admission for the first 25 rows. The closest reserved seat you could buy was row 26, thats why these Red Rocks shows were so much fun. I remember cutting out of work around 2-3pm for Red Rocks shows and heading up to Morrison to wait in line and eventually get killer seats for the show that night). Sample included.
