Roger Daltrey Live
(Paperzoo/Roger Daltrey)
2009 November 22
The Fillmore at the NC Music Factory
Charlotte, NC [USA]

Recorder: UNIVONC
Seat: 12' (4m) from stage on Left in front of Simon Townsend

NOTES:

I think this is my best recording of all.
I am SO happy with the show, but just how everything seemed to fall into place.
Roger was entertaining, and the show just unbelievable.
The mics picked up SO much of the music and negligible chatter almost non-existent.
Clearly times of crowd singing, but not to distract the listener.

The only snafu is during the first 30 seconds of freedom ride.
The coax cable didn't have a clean connection so I lost the last 5 seconds of Roger's talk prior to the song, and song had very miniscule skips (3-4).

This is my last show for the year, and I could NOT have asked for a better concert and quality recording.
The 96/24 is RICH in texture and layering. Kudo's to the soundboard.

Incidental note. Paper Zoo BLEW my mind!!!!!
Clearly there was a TON of influence of Pink Floyd, Genesis, Hendrix.
However, they have their own unique sound.
I WILL be seeing them again.
Try the download when available and let me know what you think of the band as well.
The lead singer came out and had almost a 70's Mod coat, and glasses from "One day at a time"
The members were in 70's groovie get up and the keyboard player looked like he steppped off the "Chicago" or "boston" stage.

This was a concert that all in all, made me walk away wanting more.

Shout out to all tapers and providers of great shows.
As usual this is my gracious gift of thanks to you all.

Ultimate goal, to record like Dan Lampinski and hand this off to my kids....

Bill
