The Rolling Stones
Chess Studio, Chicago, Illinois
June 10/11, 1964

Setlist:

Stewed and Keefed
Down In The Bottom
Reelin' and Rockin'

During their first U.S. tour the group visited & recorded at the legendary Chess studios, the place where much of the music that first influenced them was also recorded.
Clearly inspired, they recorded at least 15 songs within two days, including the big hits Its All Over Now & Time Is On My Side, & these 3 superb outtakes.
Stewed And Keefed is a slow blues instrumental featuring mostly Ian Stewart & Keith Richards, & is also known as Brians Blues due to the fact that he missed this session because of illness.
Down In The Bottom is an absolutely belting version of the Howlin Wolf classic & remains one of the groups very finest recordings, while Chucks Reelin & Rockin
which is re-interpretated here as a medium-paced blues, but these are hardly embarrassments either.
BBC radio versions of Down In The Bottom also circulate unofficially.
