Show Notes:
My first time seeing the Stones (of 8, all were taped, and all came out fantastic except for Anaheim '02, and that one is very solid, but not
quite as nice as the others), and I believe the first time I bought a plane ticket to go tape just one show. It was the heyday of "dividend
tickets" (cheap plane tickets tied to the release of the Alaska PFD), and I want to say it was like $149 r/t to Seattle. The best part: I didn't
even have a ticket to the show! There was a lady I'd met who knew the people who pressed CDs for Italian label Banzai (Janet H., lost contact
with her nearly 20 years ago, she also ties into an upcoming Floyd '94 release). Anyhow, this lady knew Dave L., he was going to the Stones, he
was "well connected in the ticket scene, just go and get a good tape!!!". So I did, a couple friends from Fairbanks flew down with me, and we met
Dave at the Holiday Inn at 4pm day-of-show. An hour later, after we were all properly lubricated, we were in a cab on the way to the Kingdome (I
remember it like it was yesterday, after all, this *was* The Rolling Stones). And an hour later, I had a ticket in my hand. a pretty good ticket
(as you can see in the notes). It was SUCH a good ticket, that when I turned around 10 minutes before the Stones hit the stage, the drummer from
the opening band (Spin Doctors, not taped) was sitting *behind* me. :D
Anyhow, to the opening strains of a giant hissing snake, the well oiled machine known as Keef, Mick and Co. blasted off, and we were treated to a
2+ hour typical treat for a stadium run. This always struck me as a country-tinged affair, or that's how it's filed away in my head. I've also
been told this is the first copy that has hit the 'bandwaves' with verified lineage, so I suppose that is pretty cool as well. never intended to
"sit" on it, there's just so...much...stuff here in boxes. I've got some MUCH better ones coming up next year, maybe, if the benevolent Mr. Orr
is up for it. Anyhow, alms be to Dennis for his handling my "going too far" when it comes to sending him stuff; a 128gb stick of uncirculated
classic rock and beyond is headed his way soon. to save him some transfer time...point being: you never know what you may hear next....

Mastering Notes:
- If you remember the Kingdome it was totally made of concrete, and therefore not the best venue for acoustics. There is some boominess to this
recording, which I have mitigated to a point by rolling off some bass with a high pass filter.
- The sound does improve after the first couple of songs.
- There are a couple of very brief volume fluctuations during "Honky Tonk Women".
- There is some distortion for the first 12 seconds of "Jumpin' Jack Flash".
- Tape flip during the applause after "Far Away Eyes" - seamlessly splices, no music was lost but some of Jagger's words about "Heartbreaker"
were.
- Tape flip during the applause after "The Worst" - seamlessly spliced, no music was lost.
- The recorder was paused during the "Encore Break" applause.
