Rory Gallagher:

1st British Rockmeeting

Speyer, Germany

1971-09-09

1st. Gen. aud.

This is Rory Gallagher´s performance from the 1st British Rockmeeting in Speyer, Germany(near Heidelberg)!

Other acts on this first great Festival in southern Germany, were Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Family

and many more!

People from other countries hardly could imagine, how popular Rory was here in the earlier 70´s..........!

I first saw him in 1972, at the 2nd British Rockmeeting in Germersheim and he was the only artist to give

3 encores in Germersheim....

We were so exited! We could hardly wait for the next show scheduled for autum 1972!

This is a very nice audience recording of a very unusual performance with rare songs,

made by taper "U",one of the best tapers I found here, for this period!

Mp 3 samples posted below!

A lot of the stuff from the Festival was broacasted live on the radio, but nothing ever surfaced later!

I listened to Deep Purple and Uriah Heep at home on the Radio, because I was too young to go to Festivals.....

Enjoy this piece of history!
