This is a very nice SBD of an inspired performance that was sent to me from Dreamclinic with a date of "5-19-1988" on it, however my list of Roy Buchanan recordings has him playing in Washington, DC on May 19. After some research I found some info, where else but... Skipper's Smokehouse website. It says Roy played there July 19, 1988. Also, on track 15 is an announcement that he'll be in Jacksonville the next night. He played in Ft. Lauderdale on July 22, so that puts him in the same neck of the woods - nowhere near DC, therefore I'm fairly certain the date written on the Dreamclinic disc to be in error.
There is some static/cutting-out on the left channel at the beginning, and it gets resolved for the most part by the end of "Peter Gunn". There are few left channel cut-outs are here and there (most notably at the end of "Hot Cha", in "Purple Haze", and the middle of "The Messiah"), otherwise it's an excellent sounding recording.
A HUGE thanks to Dreamclinic at WMNF-FM in Seffner, FL for sharing this with me.
Enjoy it, share it...just don't sell it. ~Slickdaddyo
