Roy Harper & Trigger (*)
1976-04-21 _ San Francisco, California _ The Boarding House (Mk2-M?-FM)
960 Bush Street

~*~ Mk2 version, carefully remastered fixing various issues, with equalisation & noise reduction ~*~

01-[05:19]. The Spirit Lives
02-[01:58]. --applause, tuning & song intro--
03-[14:13]. The Game

Total Time ::: 21:29

::: Bit muddy&bassy FM with very nice stereo separation. Check samples for need or not news.
::: Warts: Repaired dullspots & dropouts but surely missed a few. Bass overloaded.
::: COMPARISON CLAUSE: This is Mk2 version with EQ & NR to help lower bass & muddiness. The Mk1 version without EQ & NR can be found elsewhere.
::: (*) Roy's band Trigger _version 1_ (Chris Spedding/Bill Bruford/Dave Cochran) split up in July 1975 & "reformed" for this USA tour with _version 2_ Andy Roberts replacing Chris Spedding & John Halsey replacing Bill Bruford. At at this SF show Roy says the band had only been together 6 days.
::: Can YOU upgrade this? Must be around EXC quality/49 minutes. Pre-FM master stored at ArchiveGrid, which seems a serious exercise in aggravation - all that great shit nobody can listen to unless at the library in SF (& maybe have to be doing research). Tragic. https://beta.worldcat.org/archivegrid/collection/data/430389148
::: Roy's UK titled album "HQ" (USA title "When An Old Cricketer Leaves The Crease") February USA release according to the Harper/Stormcock site (makes more sense than recorded March & released June Wikipedia dates, as this 6 week April/May USA tour was for album promotion).

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

DimeTravel 237 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! ::: Corrections welcome ::: SUPERB music, let's hope the rest shows up. Kind of amazing if the band has really only been together 6 days how fully developed the songs are - quite similar in many respects to the BBC In Concert versions from 1975-07-03, 2&1/2 months down the road (but NOT the same!). Loads of effects here, even more on the guitars than 2 months on. Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yrs truly, Knees
