::: Very fine radio studio quality. Check samples for some groovy precognition or light pre-show entertainment.
::: Warts: Repaired dullspots & dropouts but surely missed a few. Bit o' hiss but it ain't bad. Most radio static repaired but a few traces are left. ~2 minutes into #6 there's ~60secs of static.
::: COMPARISON CLAUSE: This is the Mk2 version remastered with NR (for hiss reduction). Seek the Mk1 version remastered without EQ or NR elsewhere.
::: PLEASE NOTE: Some slight artifacts from NR on this Mk2 version, mainly in the interviews, but 'twas worthwhile for my enjoyment. Stay with the Mk1 version if you might be distressed!
::: Roy's in a philosophical talking mood, but manages to squeeze 3 songs into his 1/2 hour slot!

Recording Information ::: Capital Radio broadcast -> unknown recording equipment -> off-air mono master tape -> unknown analog generations -> unknown generation TDK SA-90, Dolby B on.

Playback 2015-11-24 ::: unknown generation TDK SA-90 cassette on Nakamichi 680ZX cassette deck, Dolby B on, azimuth adjusted for individual tape, heads cleaned & demagnetized -> Sony Linear PCM Recorder PCM-M10 (LPCM 44.10kHz/16bit WAV files) -> computer -> Audacity [normalisation to remove DC offset, channel/phase alignment, fades, manual one-at-a-time glitch, bump, pop, click, dropout & dullspot repairs, volume adjustments, +1.35% pitch (speed) fix with single pass after frequency analysis & with pitchpipe verification, NO equalisation or noise reduction] -> CD Wave (track splits) -> flacs (Trader's Little Helper) -> yr ears. First uploaded week of 2015-12-26. (Note: Mk1 version (remastered without EQ or NR) uses both channels. Since it was mono anyway, the Mk2 version (remastered without EQ but WITH NR) uses right channel only for a stedier listen.)

Line-up ::: Roy Harper - acoustic guitar, vocals.

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

DimeTravel 248 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! ::: Corrections welcome ::: Had 2 different transfers from the same trader on 2 different kinds of tapes, done at different times. One was substantially better than the other (probably he didn't adjust azimuth and very possibly used different decks). I used to be annoyed by this recording back in the day due to the radio static, but 6 or 7 hours of work cleared most all of it out of the picture & it's a real fine listen at this point - I prefer the NR version with less hiss, but both are fine. Roy's in a talking mood & the DJ has to push him into playing his songs but they come across quite well, tho' pretty laid back. Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yrs truly, Knees
