The Digital Dan (Audio - 9)

A true soundboard from the Presto tour, notably better than the Mountainview mono video source. Still, like almost all the Presto shows, the mix isn't as good as on other tours. There is only one flaw with the source used, the first bit of "Force Ten" was missing. Otherwise it is the complete show devoid of another edits or deletions. It is nice to hear the warm sounding bass and the drums just on the good side of being almost brutal. This is one of those Neil mixes, so if you like drums, you like the low end bass found on this show. Thanks again to Rubicon for helping to procure this particular source. While still not perfect, I can live with a few missing seconds from "Force Ten". As with all Digital Reproductions releases, this is for free trade only and not to be bought or sold. Please keep the spirit of trading alive. (2003-10-01)

I recently ripped this into my ipod and had forgotten how great this show was. This was my first Rush show and remember having so much fun that day. We ducked out of school early, somehow bought beer underage in some shady section of Springfield and headed south to Hartford. We listened to tapes of the Hartford Dead show a couple months earlier while playing Frisbee in one of the parking lots! It was a perfect New England spring day. This show is pretty much a must have? personally I think ALL Rush sbds are must havesJ The sound is really good, the drums are a little heavy in the mix, but other then that? this is how it sounded coming out of the PA. The performance isn?t perfect, Alex has a couple flubs, and Ged misses a lyric or 2, but that?s what makes a live show a live show. The Presto songs are standouts, IMO especially the Drum Solo > Scars combo? that song was a monster live and this is a great version. I can?t recommend this enough. (2006-04-10)


Aramis K. Vidaurre (Audio - 8.5)

What is nice about this short recording is that the crowd is isolated, so the music is clearer. Not so nice is the cuts throughout the set. Geddy�s voice in �Distant Early Warning� is right in front of you, not that distant like before. In �Time Stand Still� is interesting that the clock ticking effect seems not to stop and it sounds has it the guitar has to interrupt abruptly since the sound of the window breaking is not part of the intro, or at least it was not included. In �Subdivisions�, the synthesizer is rather melodic than with the distortion effect. There is a slight almost unperceivable feedback at 2:50 that makes Geddy lose a note and he also chants the last segment of the song while keeps up with the synth. During the last segment of �Marathon� I got a little bit lost since it is difficult to say if he or Alex is singing or chanting since it seems the vocals (if so) gets lost in the air, perhaps overlapped by the synthesizer. �Show Don�t Tell� an interesting intro, it sounds as �The Trees� jungle-like ending. �The Pass� is introduced as one of the band�s favorites - once more -. The set list closes with the classic �Closer to the Heart�. Nice boot. (2007-08-07)


C-Blocker (Audio - 9.5)

an 8.5 rating? perhaps a byproduct of not being too big on the Presto tour? only thing keeping this SBD from being a perfect 10 is the cut in Force Ten... the band is on and the crowd is appreciative... i love the lull after Red Barchetta before intro'ing Superconductor, the boys just sorta exhale. real nice nuance.. even though conventional wisdom regarding this tour is that the abbreviated Freewill was to spare Geddy from having to belt out the high part, i don't mind the crescendo segue into DEW.. likewise for Xanadu; not treated to the entire song but it's still the meat of it with a [at that time] unexpected turn to YYZ... really dig Scars out of Drums; they smoothly interspersed the Presto stuff nicely into the set.. Show Don't Tell is rippin'... one of the more underrated tours; this is a high-quality recording; artwork is comparably appealing; excellent offering all around. (2007-08-26)


UKrushfan (Audio - 9.5)

This show fades into "Force Ten" & the first thing I notice is how clear & tight the bass in particular is. All instruments are very clear in this excellent soundboard recording & crowd noise it very minimal throughout. Geddys bass riff in the last 3rd of "Freewill" is just superb & also in "Closer to your heart" along with Alex's guitar during the riff towards the end. Neils drumming is nice & clear, good bass & clear higher ends throughout. Best track in this show for me is "The Pass", with Xanadu a close 2nd. This show would get a ten if it wasn't for the missing few seconds of "Force Ten" & the sound fades out a couple of times, but for me it's an almost perfect Rush show. A must for any Rush ROIO collector. (2008-01-13)
