St. Paul and The Broken Bones played to a large crowd in the garage at Pegasus Records. The band features Shoals native and former Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit guitarist, Browan Lollar.
The band has a definite Southern Soul feel that's steeped in the old-school Muscle Shoals sound. There were times when singer Paul Janeway was channeling James Brown and Wilson Pickett.
The recording might be a bit hot in places and there are several glitches beginning at about 46 minutes, ending at about 51 minutes. Had some technical difficulties during the encore.
Check this band out if you get a chance. Grab their EP "Greetings From St. Paul and The Broken Bones."
