notes:
-was super excited to finally see Salif after liking his music for many years and was not disappointed: one of best shows I've seen this year so far. Just
mesmerizing/entrancing music led by the kora player and 2 female backing vocals along with Kalif singing and lead guitarist just ripping at times and all
driven by percussion/drummer. Really thought they started to lock in tight in 4th & 5th tunes and show gets otherworldly from there on. Everyone was dancing
by end!
-I moved around several times - when I started 2 guys behind me just had non-stop running (and inane) comments on show going on, so I moved down 5 rows and
more toward middle since it weas only half sold out. Once everyone was dancing, I moved even futher down and toward left only a few rows up from stage.
Overall the sound is quite good, an "A-" IMO.
-another Sonoran Desert Recording recorded, mastered and seeded by Matt23. Do not sell ever for any reason, but share freely in lossless formats only:
keep the gene pool clean!
-if you get a chance to see Salif, do not hesitate, think Eno & Larraji speeded up/with rhythm section.
