Trax Club was located at 100 West 72nd street in New York.

I had never heard of this broadcast before. It wasn't in the etree database either.

As I was transferring this tape I noticed it had radio reception problems during the first 4 songs.

The radio reception was continuously dropping out. The signal would be fine, then all of a sudden the sound would drop

off like a cliff and go really quiet and then immediately come back in. This happened several times.

I made volume adjustments in the weaker area, raising the drop outs and smoothing out the volume fluctuations.

It's not perfect, but it's a lot better.

Regardless of the radio flaws, this is a rare classic recording that you'll want in your collection.

By 1981 Sam and Dave would split.

Their last performance together was on December 31, 1981, at the Old Waldorf in San Francisco.

In 1982 Dave hired another "Sam" to replace Sam Moore and continued touring under the same name.

Dave Prater had his last performance with Sam Daniels on April 3, 1988 at a Stax Reunion show at the Atlanta Civic Center.

Dave's untimely passing happened just 6 days later on April 9, 1988.

Prater died in a car crash in Sycamore, Georgia, while driving to his mother's house.
