This recording is dedicated to two wookies, two rows in front of me- one short, bald and wearing a Santana tie dye, and his friend, much larger, wearing a gray t-shirt. During Derek Trucks' solo in Dreams (the ABB set), these special people faced AWAY from the stage, talking loudly, trying to find some friends in the crowd. True fans.

Most of the crowd seemed to have better appreciation of the special night in store for us. Santana's band was tight and high energy, as usual. About 57 minutes in, he brought out Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks for a tribute to two of his favorites: John Lee Hooker and John Coltrane. The music speaks for itself. It was awesome.

There was no letdown, and the freight train kept rolling through to the end of the show. I am looking forward to an encore performance Monday night in Columbia, MD.
