Total Time ::: 5:42
::: EXC stereo AUD. Check sample for truth or consequences.
::: Warts: Repaired MANY dullspots & dropouts but surely missed a few. Starts a bit late.
::: Another nite of "The British Are Coming" 2 month tour with Fleetwood Mac & Long John Baldry.
::: This is, of course, the lineup after the Foghat guys left & most of Chicken Shack joined the band.
::: Touring to promote the new "Hellbound Train" album, released about 3 weeks before this gig.
::: Savoy Brown returned to the Palladium on 1972-10-19 with Uriah Heep, does anyone have a recording?
Recording Information ::: unknown stereo reel-to-reel recorder & microphones -> master audience reel-to-reel stereo tape -> digital transfer.
Remastering 2015-11-22 ::: flac -> TLH -> wav -> Audacity [normalisation to remove DC offset, channel/phase alignment, fades, manual one-at-a-time glitch, bump, pop, click, dropout & dullspot repairs, volume adjustments, NO equalisation] -> CD Wave (track splits) -> flacs (Trader's Little Helper) -> yr ears. First uploaded week of 2015-11-28.
Line-up ::: Savoy Brown #9 (April 1971 - June 1972) ::: Kim Simmonds - electric guitar, vocals // Dave Walker - vocals // Paul Raymond - electric guitar, keyboards // Andy Sylvester - electric bass // Dave Bidwell - drums.
Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.
DimeTravel 241 ::: Thanks to the original taper & uploader, Doinker for his 2006 & 2008 upload of the original, from which this has been remastered! Thanks to Carville for supplying me with the goods ::: Corrections welcome ::: There must have been some interesting band politics in the previous few months leading up to this tour. As of November 1971, Savoy Brown & Chicken Shack were planning a full USA tour together. Then next thing you know, February rolls around & most of the Savoy Brown line-up has left to form Foghat & most of Chicken Shack split from Stan Webb to join Savoy Brown & then "The British Are Coming" tour was on... Only one track from this show which had a many distraction previously, but it's sounding pretty damn solid at this point - and a powerhouse of a band. Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yrs truly, Knees
