Senor Coconut y Su Conjunto
Cologne Music Hall, Cologne, Germany
14 May 2001

I recall noticing the El Baile Aleman album at a local used music store, and picked it up for a laugh, only to be thoroughly entertained by the concept and the translations of classic Kraftwerk. Several years ago I downloaded this live document of that album's tour stop in Cologne from this forum, and was impressed further. These versions are more loose, and less electronic, than the studio tracks. Notice how fully half of the encore/second version of Man Machine is a gorgeously unexpected foray into The Girl From Ipanema. Sweet! Muchas gracias to the original taper and distributors -- I've made minor tweaks to the text below, but otherwise haven't changed to the original FLAC files. Cheers!

A really great show by Senor Coconut and his orchestra. They are only playing "KRAFTWERK" songs with acoustic instruments and as Merengue or CHA CHA CHA. Great musicians and we all had a lot of fun with this kind of Kraftwerk music. For quality listen to MP3 sample. I rate it A-
