ONT Notes-
Opening set of the 22nd Annual Avila Beach Blues Festival. The crowd was well behaved for this set, as many hadn’t yet made it into the reserved section. I guess they were still buying beer. (The drunks came out for the Bonnie Raitt set.) The young couple in front of me, who brought in a fistful of beer, stayed for the opening set and then vanished for the middle set and also for Bonnie’s set. Weird. The weather in Avila Beach was beautiful, with a slight breeze in the air. The wool cap makes for a good windscreen, but there were occasional gusts that can be heard. I got my ticket to the festival at the last minute, as there are three people who are higher in the pecking order. Fortunately for me, not for them, two couldn’t make it. One was in the hospital with a kidney stone and one was home with a bad back. I had to scrounge for 9 volts before I left the house, not having time to stop to buy new ones, and ended up using previously used batteries from other recordings.
