Spacey's notes...

The Mountain called again...and am I that stupid not to hear it? No.
Once again it was a gorgeous five days up on that hills in north easter Hessen filled with pure joy and fun. And even the weather couldn't resist to show its nice face
(yes, except for friday), but it all went very smoothly and fine. Thanks to the crew at BurgHerzbergFestival for making that possible. Almost a week "outside the society",
but as "WE" made our own society there, no violence, no rascim, no hate, no religious madness, no straight capitalism was found there and will never grow their roots up on
the "Holy Mountain". This year marked my 20th visit and I'm still amazed...or even...each year more...
My deepest thanks straight from the heart are to my crew at the campground and my dear fellow DIME tapers as there were...
Lars from Oslo, Martin from Bochum, Wolly from Kevelaer, Olaf and Eddie from Hannover, my bro' Martin + Martina, Klaus from Dortmund, Thomas and Manuela, Volker and Evelyn from Mannheim,
Maggie from Duesseldorf and my TAPERHEARTBROTHERS...Rendel, Propylaen, Krautbeard and HarrieTheFox...and all I forgot...except for the Horst...
It was a real pleasure...

Some Statistics:

Attendence: 12.000+
Ticket price: In advanve 90 Euros
Catering: A lot of food booths with tasty food, also a lot of vegan. Very nice prices. Good smoke, too.
Drinks: Beer tents, Cocktail bars, Winerys...all you could have. Very nice prices, too.
Loos: Refreshed at least twice a day. And there were many. Fine.
Music: I considered this before as the worst lineup in 20 years there, but there were some fine acts, too.
Security: I think...very low...didn't see any police or customs at all. Super!
Wellness: Showers, Massages, Mindaltering services (not included in the ticket). Great!

But now let's get the "tape" rolling...

Yes...finally..here's one of my favourite shows from this year's lovely (but musically lame) Burg Herzberg Festival. And most likely not only in my top 3 shows...
Since a few years, the organizers tend to get somwhat of an "Southern Blues Rock" act for the saturday early evening. Sometimes it works with a fine performance from Dickie Betts
in 2012, smtimes it doesn't (Gregg Allman's cancelled gig), somtimes it just graces your mind (Gov't Mule 2013) and sometimes it's just plain boring (Royal Southern Brotherhood 2015).
After listening some recordings from this band, I imediately felt that something real good would happen! And so the story goes...
Superb southern rock guitar slinging, thight blues and the flavour from Macon, Georgia done by a trio from Nashville, Tennessee...or was it Jacksonville and Macon? Some "quotes" or "teases"
from bands that played Woodstock were woven, too. Guess if you'll find othern than TEN YEARS AFTER or THE WHO. This joke is up on you...enjoy these 90 minutes and take a sip from yours
SourMash from KY or TN. And cheers to the taper (Skoll!) and the band for a marvellous enchanting performance from a sunny afternoon at the HOLY MOUNTAIN...SB
