Simon Nicol & Linda Thompson
Big Top Festival
July 18, 1987
Galway(?)

Here's a reseed of a show I originally seeded in January 2006. I checked the botlist, and no one's seeded it since and thought there might be new people here who would want it. All but the info file is the same as last time. I've used trader's little helper to check the files and create the checksum.

I'll attach a sample in the comments section.

This is more a Linda Thompson with Simon Nicol on guitar & backing vocals show, but his Rosemary's Sister is here as well as one of my very favorites - I Live Not Where I Love. Linda did gorgeous vocals on it for Simon's solo lp 'Before Your Time' and she included that version on Dreams Fly Away. Both records are worth the price for that song alone. While her voice is rough around the edges for this live version, I think the entire show's a keeper.

01 Dimming of the Day (R. Thompson)
02 Abandoned (L. Williams)
03 I Live Not Where I Love (Trad. Arr. Simon Nicol)
04 For Shame of Doing Wrong (R. Thompson)
05 Telling Me Lies (L. Thompson, B. Cook)
06 Rosemary's Sister (H. Williams)
07 I'm A Dreamer (S. Denny)
08 Shady Lies (R. Thompson)
09 Encore(?): Go, Leave (K. McGarrigle)

The sound is in the B/B- range: its got tape hiss, it's in a tent, and the crowd is chatting - it is not pristine, but I like it and hope other people will too.

This upload was originally dedicated to Arie - it still is.

Enjoy.
