Scrappy Jud Newcombe-backing vocals and cool guitars

Gingko is a neighborhood coffeehouse in the Midway District of St Paul. What a treat it was to experience
Slaid Cleaves in such an intimate setting. We were full with 90 folks in attendance. I got to shake his
hand and say thanks for all the wonderful music he has gifted us with over the years. To hear "Brokedown"
live was more than cool. It was like hearing "Peaceful Easy Feeling" live in 75 or "Sugar Mountain" live in 78 or
Patti Smith live in winter of 79 . . (you get the idea.) Anyway samples are included - the sound is very good -
there is a slight hum from Slaid's guitar cord midway through the second set. It isn't a problem and I will
include a sample of that hum. enjoy, Brian
