Richard Marriot . . . Trumpet, Trombone, Tenor

also guest, Freddy ( from The Mutants ) . . . harmonica on " I Am Ready "

Excluding the guest, Freddy, there are 8 Musicians listed above ( including Snakefinger ).
During the "preamble" Snakefinger says that later in the show a " 10 PIECE BAND " will perform Pt. 2 of the show. That makes me think there are more players involved. It is also possible that one or more of the above mentioned players may not be present at the time of this recording. As there are no " band introductions " on this recording, I did the best I could as far as crediting the Musicians involved. This is quite likely one of the very first performances of this "History Of The Blues" show/presentation. I could not find anything related to this show/date searching the interwebs. I am sticking with the date that Greg, the taper of this show, wrote on the tape and insert. I believe it is correct, as Greg was a longtime trader/taper and also a big Rez/Snakefinger fan. He quit trading many years ago and I am not sure that he was trading this show out. If he did, it is likely that very few people got copies. So, if it is not new to you it will, at the very least,
be an upgrade. I had never known of this show until just a few weeks ago when he mentioned it to me. I'm so glad he did ! What a treat. I love finding 'new' old recordings by my favorite Artists. It is always a thrill.

The sound here is Excellent. It seems that there is some music missing. As far as the songs presented here, there is one small cut right after the first track. No music or talking missing. No other cuts at all ! Greg had one tape with him and he filled it up. Based on what I have heard here, I am thinking there were a couple of more songs per set that Greg did not capture. Still, he got 87+ minutes ! Super !

The song titles and original artists listed are all based on what Snakefinger says during his introductions for each piece. All of the tracks begin with a short spoken preamble by Snakefinger. There are a few pieces performed here that I had not heard on other shows from this line-up recorded much later in the year. Snakefinger doing Howlin Wolf here is really something else ! I'm still blown away after getting this tape just a few days ago, so I am going to keep this text short. It's SNAKEFINGER. It's a HISTORY OF THE BLUES SHOW . . . . .
. . . too cool ! Enjoy the show.

*** Much thanks to Greg for recording and hooking me up with his master tape. We recently got to talking about shows that we have taped or filmed and he casually mentioned a few very awesome shows, including this one. They have been sitting in storage for many years. We worked out a trade and this is the first one being shared here. More will follow over the next couple of months.
