Soft Machine
Reggio Emilia (Italy), Palasport
17 February 1976

source: audience recording (amateur Philips cassette recorder)

Thanks to the original taper, AA, for bringing to our attention this unique recording from Soft Machine's final tour with Mike Ratledge on board. This also marked the debut of Alan Wakeman, whose brief stay in Soft Machine was of course documented on the "Softs" album but rarely if at all on live tapes. Even better, this has a unique riff-based piece, presumably by Karl Jenkins (it's quite recognisably his) replacing "Land Of The Bag Snake" after "Bundles". The sound quality is quite acceptable, although obviously made with amateur equipment of the time. Enjoy !!
