==========================================================

It's time to shake it up here on Traders Den and inject something fresh,

that should rise above all the regular run of the mill stuff that crowds this site.

Today we have an American Blues Legend Frank "Son" Seals.

I can't believe I wasn't turned on to his music sooner. Why I'm just now hearing this guy is beyond my comprehension.

If you don't know this singer / guitar player, I suggest you make a quick read through his wikipedia page.

Track down some of his studio work and his 1978 live LP titled Live & Burning.

This guy went through some heavy stuff in his life. He died December 20, 2004 age 62 from diabetes.

Regarding this recording, I don't know What type of mics and recorder was used, but it was clearly done on high end gear.

The master cassette was on a 100 minute tape. The 1st gen was put on a 90 minute tape.

The whole show was recorded, but unfortunately part 2 of this 1st gen copy is missing and most likely lost.

I'm hoping that this might be a Joe Maloney recording, since I know he taped at this venue during the early 90's.

That leaves hope that the full show still exists.

I also asked Ken G. about this show. He told me that he did attend and recorded this himself.

Ken's master tapes have not been found and may no longer exist either.

The sound quality is very good to excellent quality. The only draw back is the vocals are somewhat far in the background,

but the band and that ripping guitar is loud and clear. There isn't a lot of singing going on anyway

so just crank it and get a dose of this late great blues legend.

If anyone here ever saw Son Seals, please tell when and where, I'd like to know.
