I arrived at Arrow Stage at Golden Gate Park at about 6:30 and found legal parking
on a side street across the street facing away. Great start to the day. The area
in front of the soundbard was mostly empty and found a spot on the left side of the
center rail about 40 feet from the stage. Pretty much perfect spot. Since I had
issues with connector on my NBox the day before I took out my old RBox to use with
the Schoeps. I also brought my kids CA-14s to use as a backup and ran both rigs.
He was supposed to attend and record his own stage but he messed up in school so he
stayed home. I cooked the levels on my Schoeps source and will only post the CA-14
version. Rubblebucket was supposed to play but they were stuck on the east coast due
to travel problems. This meant longer sets for the other bands.

SON VOLT
After spearheading the alternative country movement with his band Uncle Tupelo, Jay Farrar
pursued his vision with Son Volt, who recorded three landmark albums in the 90s before the
groundbreaking artist put the band on extended hiatus and cut three solo records. Missing
the free exchange of ideas and the surprises that inevitably occur when a group of simpatico
musicians lock together, Farrar assembled a new lineup of Son Volt in 2004 and the band has
continued to tour and record ever since.
