I doubt the venue was Rockwell Hall. If the concert was today, Rockwell Hall makes sense. It'd be the perfect & obvious choice. It is the centerpece for the college, it has a great auditorium, and the music department resides there. But in '78 the building was in pretty poor shape. A fire in 1969 had closed the auditorium, and the building quickly fell into disrepair because money was hard to come by. An advocacy group sprung up in the early eighties which led to funding being approved by the college and the state. Renovations were started in September 1984. What I don't have is an idea for an alternative. The smaller recital hall on the 3rd floor was opened until '12.

And who cares? An excellent recording made better by Goody. Rollins has commercially released bunches of live dates but I am not aware this Buffalo date being released. It probably should be.
