As I work my way through TapeTyrant's Master tapes for the crazy good "TapeTyrant Master Series" one thing has become clear. Not only does he have an outstanding master archives, he also has a very impressive archive of uncirculated 1st gens and soundboards.

As we tried to decide how to present those since they can't be part of the master series but critical to get out none the less, we landed on a TapeTyrant second series to be known by the creative title the "TapeTyrant Archive Series". This series will feature uncirculated Soundboards,low gen (mostly 1st) uncirculated audience captures and upgrades.

This is our 3rd release of the young series, the first two are unnumbered as I did not realize how many there will be in our journey.

Volume 3 features an excellent soundboard that is likely 2nd generation (it's definitely no higher and possibly a 1st gen) from Sonny Rollins captured during his "Sunny Days, Starry Nights" tour at the Blue Note in Boulder, CO. We can't share where it came from but suffice it to say TapeTyrant befriended a lot of key people along the way.

We get presumably most, if not all, of the early show and two songs from the late show.

Thanks to Goody for always being at the ready to weigh in on the pitch, quickly handling everything we throw at him, he keeps the shows running on time, so to speak.

And of course we owe TapeTyrant a great debt of gratitude for making the decision a little over a year ago now to share his stellar work with all of us and trusting me to present what I hope is the definitive editions of his archives.
