Comments:

I am 90% sure this came from Bob Miller's reel source from the live New Year's night feed from KSAN in San Francisco, when the Sons opened for the Grateful Dead and New Riders of The Purple Sage. I was lucky enough to get a copy of about 10 years ago from Bob on cassette. I am not sure why it was encoded in Dolby B but the quality was clearly better when played back using it on my Tascam deck, which unlike many decks does an excellent job using Dolby. I set the levels carefully so that I did not need to normalize post-transfer and ran a direct transfer in 16 bit, so there was no additional processing used on this recording. I think it sounds as good or better than you'd expect for a 72 vintage recording from FM, with not much hiss and good dynamic range. There is minor level fluctuation in various spots but it isn't too bad. I do not see this one on etree so I expect it is "not well" or even "un" circulated.
