Sons of Champlin
Live at Simpson College
Indianola, Iowa
5/6/74
Audience Tape B+
Sony TC126 > Spin It Again (Digitalization) > Goldwave > Media Monkey
This is a re-seed--I seeded this about 3 years ago.

The Sons of Champlin were a partnership of sorts between
its leader, Bill Champlin on keyboards and guitar and vocals
and Terry Haggerty on lead guitar. Bill wrote most of the
songs. The epidomy of laid back Marin, Bill often said the
band ignored, indeed ran, from fame. "When opportunity
knocked, we answered the phone," Bill often said.

I was a true Sons fan, and Bill and the boys and I shared
some very good times. After a three night drunk drug fest
in Iowa City, we were hung over an drove 2+ hours to a
sleepy little Iowa town, Indianola and set up an open park
on a crisp Iowa fall day. With kegs of Heinenken, we pouned
down a few large glasses, the band started up with "Hey
Children" and all of a sudden, the clouds parted, the sun
came out, girls tops came off, and it was a great
day and a great concert.

This is one of my favorite Sons tapes, and I have pretty much have them
all. Its also one of the longest sets, 'cause Bill was having a
great time.

This is for Sandy--if you're up there, fire up a joint,
guzzle a Heinenken, and dig on the Sons buddy.
