The concert & circumstances:

The flyers said "Fatgholy presents ... a psychedelic happening with Bushfire & Sons of Otis, Saturday, April 2nd, 2011 9pm, Oetinger Villa, Darmstadt". The Oetinger Villa is a about 100 years old building and fits well in any vampire movie. I went in there in a really bad mood - not because of this extraordinary doomy location - but because of private issues which brought me down before. Bushfire played first their Stoner Rock. They were ok but didnt manage to attract my real attention. After their gig I went to my car waiting for the Sons of Otis, of which I didnt listen a note before but which had been recommended to me by someone. So I went in again, missed the first five minutes and listened to ... just another Stoner band. Nice, but nothing special. In the meantime my depression grew larger and larger and I couldnt stand staying any time longer. So I left after one hour recording. The next day - after listening to my recording - I had a real revelation. First: the sound was fantastic, much more better than at the concert. Second: their music gave me a kick immediately and the awareness to have witnessed not a Stoner band like many others but a very special one and the recording became one of my favourite ones of that genre. Sons of Otis describe their music as "Heavy psychedelic doom blues". Decide by yourself.

Dont download this just for reasons of consumption: downloading, storing, having a quick listen to one or two tracks and then looking for the next kick to come. Take some time, make yourself comfortable and listen, communicate and share your experiences. Comments are appreciated and would be very nice! Keep on sticking together! Enjoy!

This recording is dedicated to SB (who introduced me to Dime) and STL7.
