::: Very fine up close AUD in small club. Check samples for humbug grumblin' or oohs & aahs.
::: Warts: Repaired dullspots & dropouts but surely missed a few. #07 fades out near end, probably at tapeflip.
::: CONTRAST CLAUSE: This be the Mk2 WITH EQ (brightened highs & lowered bass). The Mk1 NO EQ version can be found elsewhere.
::: Opened for Moby Grape Sept 26&27. Only 1 show on the 27th (the club often had 2 shows a nite).
::: Setlist help would be appreciated.
::: Apparently a rather short-lived line-up of the band, in 1977 only.
::: Could someone please upload Sopwith Camel '73 Denver Ebbets Field (minus official "Hello, Hello" cut)?
::: Line-up & tour info at Bruno's fine site: http://thesanfranciscosound.blogspot.de/2010/03/sopwith-camel-performance-list-work-in.html
::: In memory of Martin Beard, Camel's bassist & vocalist from '66-68 & again in recent years, who passed away in Nov 2015.

Recording Information ::: unknown mono recording equipment -> master tape -> unknown analog tape generations -> unknown generation high bias or metal cassette, Dolby B on.

Playback 2012-03-06 ::: unknown generation high bias or metal cassette on Nakamichi Dragon cassette deck, Dolby B on, auto azimuth adjustment -> Alesis CD Recorder -> LPCM 44.10kHz/16bit WAV files.

Remastering 2016-02-xx ::: 44.10kHz/16bit WAV files -> computer -> Audacity [normalisation to remove DC offset, channel/phase alignment, fades, manual one-at-a-time glitch, bump, pop, click, dropout & dullspot repairs, volume adjustments, +1.3% averaged pitch (speed) fix with single pass after frequency analysis & with pitchpipe verification, WITH equalisation] -> CD Wave (track splits) -> flacs (Trader's Little Helper) -> yr ears. First uploaded week of 2016-02-13.

Line-up (Sopwith Camel version #8) ::: Peter Kraemer - saxophone, flute, synthesizers, percussion, vocals // Jimmy Ward - lead guitar, timbales // Mike Lafferty - keyboards, synthesizer, trombone, backing vocals // Clarence Stephens - electric bass // Bill Buckingham - drums, percussion, backing vocals.

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

DimeTravel 269 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! Thanks to zongo for the Dragon transfer from my cassette. ::: Corrections welcome ::: Well here's a somewhat different take on the Sopwith Camel experience for all you West Coast music freaks who are so inclined. Only recording I've come across of this "mid-period" line-up & it sounds pretty cool, Peter Kraemer carryin' a lot of the weight. Some songs you ain't heard elsewhere & some fine versions of songs from "The Miraculous Hump Returns From The Moon" - one of my favourite albums. Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yrs truly, Knees
