Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes
Brygga Kulturhus
Halden, Norway
April 20, 2011
Recorded By Bull

A nice mid-easter show in Halden, a norwegian city close to the swedish border. The band had just played three shows in Sweden, and headed on from Halden to a rock festival in Lista, a small place southwest in Norway. Brygga Kulturhus is a house where the locals have different cultural activities.

I'm not very satisfied with the sound on this one. It's done with my spare equipment, no-name mics from the late 80's or early 90's, and the good old iRiver H320 with the Rockbox firmware patch. But the mics are definitely the limitation here. On the queiter parts the band sound is OK, but then there's too much chattering amongst the audience around me. I feel the people of Halden went to this concert too meet friends, not necessarily to hear Southside Johnny.

This recording is OK as documentation of the show, but if you're looking for high sound quality, find some other recording. No big surprises, maybe except for the duet with local rocker Henning Kvitnes as the finale of the show. And of course the pissed-drunk local hero that Southside dragged up on stage to count to four in norwegian during "Talk to me".
