Artist:
The SPACE INVADERS recently emerged out of members and former members of ELECTRIC ORANGE, ZONE SIX, SPACENOTE and WELTRAUM. They just released their first album "Invasion on Planet Z".

Music:
The SPACE INVADERS play spacey jam-sessions and no composed music at all. So the session here has its up and downs, but sure more ups. Mike Haefliger did almost all guitar work, Dirk Bittner stepped back. Later on they stopped the session and anounced a project called "HAUSFRAUEN OF DEATH", saying they will play now ambient-noise-music. And that�s it what it was: ambient, noisy and spacey too. The line-up was Dirk Jan Mueller on synthesizer and electronics, Paul Pott getting weird sounds out of his bass and Mike Haefliger on electronics. They were joined sometime by an unknown theremin player. There were also a few attempts of somebodies to join with drumming, but Dirk Jan Mueller didn�t want them so. So half an hour of this kind of ambient noise is quite listenable without getting nervous or mad.

Some more notes:
The SPACE INVADERS were part of the official festival-schedule. They were announced taking the Mental Stage on July 18 at 7:30 pm. After that official performance they did their session of what this is all about. I heard they did another session on another stage the same night ... and maybe more sessions the days after. Remember: The Burg Herzberg Festival had this time three stages: the Main Stage (big & professional) for the "big" artists, the Freak Stage (former Prog Stage) in front of which you could formerly listen to the most interesting music of the Festival (Prog, Experimental aso), now good music is there only played exceptional, and the Mental Stage (small & semi-professional) for ambitous amateurs and semi-famous bands. There existed two more not really official no-name stages. On one of them the SPACE INVADERS did their show which I recorded.
