Freak Valley Festival Vol. 5
AWO Gelaende, Netphen-Deuz, Germany
May - 27 - 2016
Day # 2 - Act # 10 (22:00 -> 22:55)

A BLUESHACKS, MIRO, RACKHIR, LORD DIE and SPACEBANDIT taping cooperation
---

Rec. Info:
OKM2R -> ZoomH2n (@ WAV 16/44) -> MemoryCard -> HD -> Audacity (edit/remaster) -> WAV 16/44 -> TLH8 -> FLAC -> DIME -> YOUR EARS AND MIND...so far away in outer space...
Recorded by dear BLUESHACKS from the right side of stage. Taper moved a bit backwards due to the totally frenzied drunken crowd (and of course I don't mean everybody there,
but just a few assholes who kicked and pushed aggressively). To my surprise (and after a bit of surgery) this sounds really fine. And HEAVY. Sorry, no pics from this show
so far, but maybe there will some turn up somewhere...

FREAK VALLEY FESTIVAL 2016:

Admission fee: 69 Euros in advance
Attendence: 2500 people from all over the world. Sold out since November 2015
Catering: A variety of food booths, breakfast tent on the campground (which was 3 kms UP away), prices slightly above last year. A slice of Pizza at 2.50, other food more expensive.
Some beer booths, a cocktail bar and - to my personal surprise - a small winery slot with "Met" (which I only discovered the last evening, so no chance to get full advantage of it).
Security: Very low, very mellow. Almost no controls at the gate, if you didn't try to roll a barrel of alcolhol into it...
Loos: Acceptable quality both on the festival and on the campground. This is something that makes a difference, if you're staying for three nights...
Weather conditions: Exceptional fine on thursday, some rain during the night, fine again on friday as well as the saturday until 19:45 (probably) when a massive rainfall (no, it was
buckets of rain washing over you) for 90+ minutes went down. Nice for the plants to be removed from those wild bushes pissers, but defintely not fine for tapers...
Crowd behavior: That's kind of serious thing to me. The later the day, the more rule and ruthless and agressive against others a few drunken assholes (please stay at the campground,
if you're already filled up) were. A real strange thing also happened to me and the Lord...never experienced that on during TOUNDRA...

Personal thanks...
To the crew at Freak Valley Festival...again another fine job done. Thank you.
To the reliable taping crew, friends Reinhard and Dietmar at the campground for the nice pavillion (who had gone for good, but survived 4 Burg Herzberg Festivals) and company.
Always been a pleasure and will be...forever...

First of all, I'm really pissed I had to miss that show to leg trouble which made walking every meter painful. So I decided to split and missed this fabulous (but way too short)
show from the "secret" headliner of Freak Valley Festival 2016. Founded just two years ago in Trondheim, Norway, by guitarist Per Borten and saxspace ace Rolf Martin Snustad with
befriended Motorpsycho-backbone of Bent Saeter and Kenneth Kapstad, they have already released three phenomenal full length albums to both highest critical and public response!
Since then the band also did at least three very successful tours all over Europe with many sold out shows. Early this year Bent decided to leave the band due to his various other
musical projects and was replaced permanently by Hallvard Gaardls, a young Trondheim bass player, who is despite of his age nothing short of sensational.
To my knowledge, this show also marks the first time Kenneth took the stage after his departure from his motherband for almost 10 years, Motorpsycho. Tusen takk to him for pushing
my favourite band into outer orbits with his "otherwordly" drumming. If you don't like that mentioned band, here's another proof of what he can do to a more straight heavy rock ensemble.
"beating" them up from "extraclass" to "worldclass"...you just have to listen to this...SB.
