On the one hand, it's Spinal Tap, live at the Beacon Theater. The accompanying NY Times article gives some idea of what it was like, stage props and all.

On the other hand, this is not the best recording. The band was too loud (they had already earned themselves a distinguished place in rock history as one of Britain’s loudest bands) and the crowd is totally nuts until they play Stonehenge. In fact, the audio signal is so strong that the tape was recorded without dubly.

Despite parts of the Times' review (and really, you can't print that) the new material isn't all bad. Short and Sweet, in particular, which features guest horns, is quiet good. The sustain on it is amazing.

Tape flip after The Sun Never Sweats, nothing lost, and a second one before Bitch School which clips the beginning of the song, and the last one before the encore banner, which turned out is fine.

Enjoy!
