* with Annette O'Toole

Notes: one from the "archives".... a great, fun show by Guest, McKean and Shearer doing
songs from all their musical endeavors.... and with Michael's wife Annette O'Toole stepping
in to sing on a couple of songs, the thought occurred to me that a possibly unintended coincidence,
(or maybe intentional. with those guys you never know) of the tour was that like his screen alter-ego David St. Hubbins,
McKean brought his wife on the tour and put her on the payroll.. :-) though of course, she co-wrote "A Kiss At The End Of The Rainbow"
so the comparison isn't truly apt, but I thought it sorta funny..also, a kinda funny anecdote marginally related to
this, I actually ran into Harry Shearer a few months later at McCabe's in Santa Monica....
I was visiting a friend and we went to see Dan Hicks at McCabe's and Harry and his lovely
wife moved down the row in front of us to sit down, and the conversation went this way;
Me: Hey, it's Harry Shearer... (genius that I am)
Harry: Nice to meet you...
Me: I saw you guys a few months ago in Washington DC..
Harry: Did you enjoy the show??
Me: It was fucking great!!!
Harry: Good answer!!!

I also mentioned to him that I thought that the fan video they showed for "Tonight I'm Gonna Rock
You Tonight" (a stop motion video with Lego's) was pretty great, and he told me that they'd wanted
to include it in their upcoming (at the time) DVD, but that for some reason Lego had refused
permission for them to do so. he guessed they didn't want their products associated with
"England's Loudest Band" and to top off the meeting,
Harry even gave me a good iPhone camera tip.... I handed my phone to my friend to get
a photo with Harry, and the first time, my friend shook the phone too much while pressing
on the "button".... Harry then showed us a trick he'd learned, instead of getting the shot
ready and then PRESSING the "button", you put your finger on the "button", get the shot ready,
then just take your finger OFF, and voila, a shake-free photo.... I still use that method
today and it reminds me of that chance meeting every time I do...... lastly, no Dobly was applied
in the mastering of this recording..
