Spirit - January 1, 1971 (AUD - Master from Doinker 2006 share - 82 Minutes Long) The Valley Music Center, Tarzana, California, U.S.A.

This recording comes from a 2006 download (thanks to Doinker, THX!!!), but these are not those original files.
I'm always looking for upgrades, alternate sources, & uncirculated Spirit shows.
If you have any of those, please share or get them to someone that can do so.
Enjoy!!

ORIGINAL NOTES:
This Spirit show is below the quality level that I would normally like to post. There was a 21 minute gap in the right channel. Because the taper's assistant didn't do his job properly, you sometimes only heard echo (the microphones became pointed backwards). He's talking, singing, being a pain in the ass... constantly. He is told to keep his mouth shut, over and over again. I am putting this concert on Dime due to the urging of a few rabid members (you know who you are) for the following reason:
When everything has been said and done about this show, one fact still remains. The performance is simply mindblowing. At an explosive, cosmic level that cannot be defined. This show might get you a little high without aid! After all, it was New Year's Eve.
I did quite a lot of work to the master. For one thing, when a channel gap normally appears in a recording, it's normal to mute that side, and to copy the good channel onto it. When that was done for the 21 minute gap, the recording quality took a giant leap forward. That's unusual. Usually the recording suffers because of the loss of the stereo effect.
The right channel was repeatedly sampled, and found to be weak and distorted. The decision was then made to dump it totally. So, even though you have the entire show as I have it at 81 minutes, the total torrent size is only 211 megs. That's because FLAC file sizes for 2-channel mono are only about half the size of stereo files. 60hz hum reduction was used. General NR was used this time around, as the loud tape noise could be totally seperated from the music.
It isn't perfect, far from it. But, it is a stellar performance.
I had trouble to identify a few of the tunes. One of them I actually know, but I can't place the title. Please supply a more complete setlist, if you can.
Enjoy! A DoinkerTape
