Comments:

1 - Taper's plea - if you have any uncirculated SPIRIT shows, or better quality FM
broadcasts than what's been posted here before, please share them. If you know anybody
who has shows that fit this category that aren't on DIME, please dub off their stuff and
share it. I'm trying to write a book on SPIRIT and need all the information I can get. Have
a database of over 1500 gigs 1967-1996, and want to find as much information as I can to
add to it. If the songs are identifiable, that's what matters the most, as opposed to sound
quality. If you have any memories of where you saw SPIRIT, the more specific the better
(venue, date, supporting bands, etc.), I'd love to know that as well. Please leave that in
the comments section or PM me.

2 - One of the last known reunions of the original SPIRIT line-up, save two shows in
October 1991. The band had just released SPIRIT Of '84 (known as THE THIRTEENTH
DREAM in Europe), and only toured the West Coast for little more than week, before
other commitments by the other members left Randy and Cass to continue the tour to
promote the new album. They recruited Scott Monahan and Dave Waterbury, and were
on the road on August 16th, four days after this show. Known original band dates for
this tour are as follows:

Aug. 6, 1984 "Rodeo", La Jolla, CA
Aug. 7, 1984 "Mesa Amphitheatre", Mesa, AZ supporting Jefferson Starship.
Aug. 8, 1984 "The Palace", Hollywood, CA
Aug. 9, 1984 "Grand Ballroom", Reno, NV
Aug. 12, 1984 "The Stone", San Francisco, CA

I'm sure there's more to be discovered. The band had a four album deal with Phonogram,
but the people who signed them left, and you know how that goes.

I used to trade tapes with a BYRDS fanatic on San Francisco, so we made a deal I'd go
and tape any BYRDS related stuff for him on the East Coast, if he'd do the same for me
with SPIRIT on the West Coast. This tape alone made it worth it, as it's the only decent
quality known tape of the tour. There is stuff from "The Palace", but it sounds terrible.
"Rasta Girl (In A Ferrari)", a joint Randy/John composition was recorded, but never released.
Jay Ferguson's song, "Pictures Of You", was recorded, sans SPIRIT, and used in THE
TERMINATOR soundtrack.
