Taper's Comments:

1 - HELP!! If you have any uncirculated SPIRIT shows, or better quality FM
broadcasts than what's been posted here before, please share them. If you
know anybody who has shows that fit this category that aren't on DIME, please
dub off their stuff and share it. I'm trying to write a book on SPIRIT and need
all the information I can get. I have a database of over 1500 gigs 1967-1996, and
want to find as much information as I can to add to it. If you have any memories
of where you saw SPIRIT, the more specific the better (venue, city, date, supporting
bands, etc.), I'd love to know that as well. Please leave that in the comments
section or PM me. Thank you!

2 - Show description & comments follow:
Here's SPIRIT from a short-lived syndicated FM show called "Live From The Hard Rock".
It was hosted by Paul Shaffer, who is the long time leader of the band on The David
Letterman TV show. The show wasn't syndicated in my neck of the woods at the time,
so my copy came from Salt Lake City. The exact date has always been a small mystery.
They announce during the interview that it is Cass' birthday, which would make it May 4th.
However, on May 4th they were advertised as playing a gig in Dayton, OH. I saw the band
on May 8th in Philadelphia, and I recall Randy had mentioned they had just done this show.
Dave Waterbury also remembers doing this, and he recalls that it was just after Ed's
birthday, but they said it was his birthday to get the biggest bang out of it. So, likely this
dates in the period from May 5th to May 7th. If anybody has further information, please post
that in the comments section. Enjoy.
