This show was first uploaded on Dime around 8/28/2006. There were a few things
wrong with it. There were 1 or 2 SBEs (that I just discovered), Red House was in
2 parts because I didn't know how to splice a tape-flip song together (!!!) and
there were no sound samples posted because I didn't know how to do that (!!!).
Well, things have changed quite a bit in almost 3 years. I will provide at least
one sample for your listening pleasure and I'm sure you'll enjoy the show. So
this is technically not a reseed but it IS an improvement. I guess that I'll
call it a rework...If I have misnamed any songs, please chime in with the
correct titles.

In case you're wondering, On The Waterfront is a city festival in Rockford, IL
which is held every Labor Day weekend. Many bands perform on many different
stages & it's a good chance to view many diverse musical genres. This Spirit
show was one of those performances. The recording itself is very clear with
very little hiss & no distortion. The reason that it was graded as vg+/ex- is due
to the low level background crowd chatter that goes on for a good portion of the show.
The music always overpowers the talking but there is quite a bit of chatter. Why
people go to shows and show the artist absolutely no respect by blabbing non-stop
about moronic bullshit during the concert is beyond me. I guess one should never
underestimate the public's ability to act like assholes.

The vocals & instruments are very clear and the taper was never farther away
from the stage than ~ 40 feet. He moved around quite a bit to get away from
talking morons. There is no artwork. The show fits on 2 74 min. CDs. The best
place to end CD 1 is after track 9 (Like A Rolling Stone). There was a tape flip
during Red House which I welded together almost seamlessly ; you'll hear a little
jump in the music.

CD 1: 9 tracks, 44:44
CD 2: 7 tracks, 41:22
TT: 86:06

I'm not sure how interested people will be in this Spirit concert, but I
posted it because it's a good show & one of Randy California's last gigs.
He died on January 2, 1997, exactly 16 months after this show. Please don't
convert this to mp3 or other lossy formats. Please don't sell or buy this
recording. Trade freely and seed this as long as you can. That's about all
that I can think of to say, so enjoy the show, have fun & don't freak out...
