Notes:

This is a liberated bootleg that I purchased back in 1998. It was a fan-made boot (back when it was still acceptable to sell them), produced in a very limited run on CDR (only 100 were "pressed"). I converted the show to SHN around 2002, and I have recently coverted the SHNs to FLAC for better compression and compatibility.

It is an excellent audience recording with great ambience; it feels like you are right in the middle of the gig. The only negative is that the low end is a bit overpowering at times, causing some slight distortion (especially the bass drum), but it's not too noticeable. The performance is absolutely killer, showcasing The Beard in their prime.

Here is the text written in the liner notes:

"- Foreword -

It is the desire of so many, but has been the fortune of so few to see Spock's Beard live. Having played only a handful of shows in the United States, and only on the West coast has left so many fans searching for something to fill the void. Although plans do call for a small tour of Eastern cities in early 1999, nothing has yet to be set in stone. The solution, though by no means perfect, is this extremely limited live set offered only to true fans in an attempt to share what has been a truly rare experience.

LIVE AT THE ROXY THEATRE was recorded April 14, 1998 and released in August of the same year with a total of 110 sets produced: 2 Master Sets ( A & B), 8 promos (given away), and 100 hand-numbered sets."

Mine was number 38, in case anyone was wondering, and I still have it. ;-) Enjoy!
