Stan Getz Quintet - 1979 - Hoogeveen (The Netherlands)

Stan Getz Quintet
Hoogeveen (de Tamboer), the Netherlands
29 November, 1979

The Stan Getz Quintet at "De Tamboer" in Hoogeveen, the Netherlands, for Dutch TROS radio (program Sesjun), Thursday, 29 November, 1979.

Someone in the Netherlands, aka "Blackhawk", lent me kindly some CDs and cassette tapes with Sesjun broadcasts, of which this is the first upload. This is an edit from two re-broadcasts of this 1979 concert, in 1980 and 2004, respectively. We missed the original 1979 broadcast, although I have some radio program pages, including this concert, in my files which would indicate I should have it somewhere on my r-to-r tapes. The two re-broadcasts had almost exactly the same program, except for two tracks appearing in only one of the broadcasts; the 1980 broadcast had "Bitter Sweet", the 2004 one had "Kali-Au".

I made an edit, starting from the 2004 broadcast and inserting "Bitter Sweet" in (what I think is) the right sequence position, ending up with a program of some 70 minutes. What I know for sure: the present version of (the "outro" track) "Stan's Blues" is not complete, but - at almost 9 minutes - the longest one available; longer than both the versions of the 1979 and 1980 broadcasts.

"Bitter Sweet" has two parts (tape flip at c. 6:40). In "Big Tiny Little" there are two very minor pauses at c. 5:35, which was in the original source.

Enjoy!
