If you listen to music seriously, and are lucky, once or twice in a lifetime
you hear live music that transcends the usual bounds of club or concerts.
This was one of those nights, and I was lucky enough to be in the audience.
Bill Morrisey opened with a fantastic set followed by this performance.
It seemed like a breakthrough night for Stan Rogers. He filled, and enchanted
a concert hall, a step up (larger) from Passims Coffee House where usually
played. We all had such high hopes, expectations. Less than a month later
Stan Rogers was dead, victim of a plane fire. I recorded this off the radio the
day Stan died. 24 years later, this is still among my favorite recordings. The tape
degraded over the years but it is very listenable. I'd say at least a B or B+ .
Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy it.
