~*~ Mk2 remaster, carefully remastered fixing various issues, without EQ* or NR ~*~

01. Junior's Wailing

Total Time ::: 8:07

::: EXC mono SBD on FM broadcast. Nervous Nellies check sample.
::: Warts (NONE audible): Repaired a few dullspots. Kick drum distortion spot fixed at 15secs. DC offset fixed & speed tweaked. Muffled channel of mono tape now removed.
::: COMPARISON CLAUSE: This is an Mk2 remaster from the original EZT '04 DIMER 38f"Mk1"up/reload (often included w/Cologne//No longer on DIME).
::: Original upload simply identified this as "1969 Amsterdam VPRO-FM".
::: *Very likely this is 1969-08-23or24 Paradiso. Purportedly VPRO taped at least those 2 days that weekend&has broadcast other groups.
::: WEEKEND FESTIVITIES: 1969-08-22 Blossom Toes/Bonzo Dog Band //// 1969-08-23 Humble Pie/Ekseption/Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation/Crusade/Ferre Grignard/Turquoise/Dallies/Steamhammer //// 1969-08-24 Deep Purple/Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation/Brian Auger&The Trinity/Steamhammer/Jimi Hendrix(?)/Yes(cancelled).

::: NEWSPAPER GIGS ANNOUNCEMENT 3 day weekend_ http://forgotten-yesterdays.com/_graphics/graphic/graphic_19662.jpg
::: Review says Steamhammer played"first performance"Saturday-seems like they also played Sunday as pre-advertised.
::: Last song of set or an encore. Believed not to have been broadcast in original era.
::: Much later (90s?) broadcast&presumably no other Steamhammer cuts included at that time.
::: 1st LP"Steamhammer"(aka"Reflection")issued Mar'69.
::: "Mk II"2nd LP, with this line-up, recorded'69 (summer or fall)&issued Nov'69.

Recording Information ::: VPRO mono soundboard tape broadcast -> unknown recording equipment -> off-air mono master tape -> ? -> low generation 38f tape (probably M1orM2 / possibly remastered) -> flac

Remastering 2021-08-xx ::: low generation 38f flac -> Audacity [normalisation to remove noticeable DC offset (NOT to normalize volume), channel/phase alignment, fades, manual one-at-a-time glitch, bump, clap, pop, click, dropout & dullspot repairs, volume adjustments, -0.2% pitch (speed) fix with single pass after frequency analysis (direct at A440), NO added equalisation (*except 15820 notch), no noise reduction] -> CD Wave (track splits) -> flacs (Trader's Little Helper) -> yr ears. (NOTE: Before since one channel was a bit muffled it sounded a little bit stereo but it was NOT - now the better sounding channel doubled up makes it clear what excellent sound it really is - and hence the smaller file size).Freed 2021-08.xx.

Line-up (Steamhammer MkVI) ::: Kieran Raymond White (†R.I.P. 1995†) - vocals, electric guitar // Martin John Pugh - electric guitar // Steve Jolliffe - saxophone // Steve Davy - electric bass, backing vocals // Mick Bradley (†R.I.P. 1972†) - drums, percussion.

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

DimeTravel 879 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! THanks to DIMER 38 for the original I worked from. Sincere thanks to whomever uploads this for me. ::: Corrections welcome ::: Was working' on the 'hammers & listening to this & went ahead and tweaked it, tho's it's one of the better sounding ones we have by them - and the shortest, unfortunately. Hoping more of the sets that weekend show up before long. Only 52 years of waiting, so far. Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yrs truly, Knees

Support the artists and/or their families! Still a number of CDs & LPs around & apparently more coming. Nothing to buy, but check Martin Pugh's (again up&running) site at www.steamhammer.com -- www.stevejolliffe.wixsite.com/steve-jolliffe

Do whatever you want with it except sell it, 'cause that ain't cool!
