M?-AUD (48kHz/24bit files) ::: DimeTravel/Krautbeard version of Cologne

>IMO, this NEW krautbeard version UPGRADES previous ones as it has a much more natural sound<
>ALL that circulates of this Cologne source, see notes below ("3rd" song in some older versions another gig)<

~*~ Mk4 version, carefully remastered fixing various issues, with differential EQ on 1st 2mins & lite NR ~*~

01-[00:07]. ==audience/band prep==
02-[10:45]. Riding On The L&N ->
03-[04:51]. Hold That Train

Total Time ::: 15:43

::: EX- direct in PA hot, loud AUD. Adjust treble to suit. Check samples to discard/weigh/celebrate (CHOOSE offer #3!).
::: Warts (ALMOST NONE left in Mk4): Repaired dullspots & dropouts but surely missed a few. Bit o' hiss in intro/quiet parts. Sound overall is loud but much more natural than other versions. #01 3 splices (all versions) now SEAMLESS & inaudible (see notes below). #02 Mk3 version somewhat muffled first 1:40 (then sounds like taper raised mike&sound is a little bright. Mk4 version EQ'd to match rest, but ALL a somewhat hot&bright).
::: CONTRAST CLAUSE: This is the Mk4 remaster EQ'd on muffled part + lite NR remaster. The Mk3 No EQ*orNR* may be found elsewhere.
::: HIGHLY recommend Mk4 version over Mk3 as it sounds the same thruout (not muffled the 1st 1:40).
::: End of their set (probably not an encore). Maybe this IS entire set, but likely they only had 25-35 mins total.
::: NOTE: Sometimes listed as SBD, but NOT It's a close to PA AUD) // NOT 1970-04-30 (It's 1970-04-03).
::: NOTE: NOT 3 songs but is only 2. The 3rd song is a different S/U '70 show (or a different Cologne taper).
::: NOTE: Previously listed 3rd song/different show is"On The Tide" (previously incorrectly titled"Leaving This Morning").
::: This source HAS the opening pre-song 6secs & "L&N" does NOT fade in like the 38f (& cheese) version.
::: This source missing 8secs of unimportant AUD noise&yelling at end after music&after band leaves stage.
::: COMPARISON CLAUSE: finkployd49 2008"Mk2"version is a LESSER quality version of this source/transfer (both only had these 2 songs noted as Cologne).
::: COMPARISON CLAUSE: 38f"Mk1A"version uploaded his version of Cologne on EZT in 2004. Same master tape but sounds more processed (less natural). More notes below.
::: COMPARISON CLAUSE: DIMER cheese"Mk1B"remaster of 38f version (2013), but this krautbeard version is still an improvement (more natural&better splices).

NOTE: 8.11 CUT (all copies) as 13secs had another(!) recording over top. Removed on 38f (sharp cuts/2 micro-glitch edits). This version 13secs removed&seamless splice in guitar solo (unless you count beats, (seamless!). 8.13-8.21 had volume fluctuations mostly fixed on 38f&totally fixed here. THEN erratic but f*cked 4sec reel damage (removed on 38f) totally FIXED fixed 2 splices total 2secs removed (seamless). MONO 2-channel original tape & Rchan ~200KHz higher higher, so after remastering used ONLY better Rchan to steady sound, hence small file sizes (no cross-channel patches actually needed). Freed 2021-08-xx.

Line-up (Steamhammer MkVII) ::: Kieran Raymond White (†R.I.P. 1995†) - vocals, electric guitar // Martin John Pugh - electric guitar // Steve Davy - electric bass, backing vocals // Mick Bradley (†R.I.P. 1972†) - drums, percussion.

DimeTravel 849 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! REALLY pleased krautbeard lent me his cassette to transfer - THANKS! Sincere thanks to whomever uploads this for me. ::: Corrections welcome ::: Damn! This one is great & GREAT respect for the German freaks for recognising this band as THE STUFF hippie dreams were made of. One of our FINEST Steamhammer recordings & now a better listen. DO listen. BYTE&CHEW, not just byte down(load). Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yrs truly, Knees

Support the artists and/or their families! Still a number of CDs & LPs around & an upcoming CD box set as noted above. Nothing to buy, but check out Martin Pugh's (again up&running) site at www.steamhammer.com

Do whatever you want with it except sell it, 'cause that ain't cool!
