Originally broadcast in 1973 and re-broadcast and taped in 1974

I saw the original 1973 KCET broadcast but I wasn't able to tape the audio at the time. Luckily it was re-broadcast a year later and that time I was ready.

Lineage:

I ran RCA jacks from the TV's speaker terminals into a reel to reel. I think it was a TEAC but it's been a long time.

In 1990 I transferred it to cassette - this torrent is made from the cassette.

I have a hard time being objective about the sound quality. I've listened to this tape many many times so I'm used to it and I don't think it sounds that bad.

Still, I'll err on the side of caution and give it a C+. Listen to the sound samples and keep in mind how and when it was made.

The big question is does the video exist? Hopefully someone with the right connections will see this and poke around.

As I remember it, they were filmed in small room in front of a small audience. When Maddy tells the audience to dance during the last song a biker - at least that's how I remember him -gets up and starts doing a jig! It's a great half hour of classic Steeleye Span.

(Keep in mind these are 35 year old memories and I am not responsible for any brain cells that might have amnesia or may be missing altogether. Oh wait I am responsible for that. Never mind.)
