In 2004 Steeleye celebrated their 35th anniversary with tours in the Australia and the UK. This was their gig in the dingy Hawth theatre, set in beautiful grounds on the outskirts of Crawley in the South of England. I used to go there for tax and accounting seminars now and then, and have been tempted to sit in the sound booth and play about with the sound!! There is a wonderful open air arena in a wooded setting, behind the theatre complex where my wife and I performed in a very pagan morris show.

From Ken Nicol's tour diary - "Another good audience tonight - and they were up for it from the word go - makes our job quite a bit easier. Lots of friends. Without paying too much thought to it, by degree as the days pass, and almost subliminally, I can sense the tour's end making it's growing presence felt".

The live CD issued from the tour included recordings made at The Rose Theatre Tewkesbury on April 20 2004, at The Southampton Guildhall on May 15 2004 and at The Stables, Milton Keynes on December 21 2004.
