Steely Dan
9-17-2013
Uptown Amphitheater
Charlotte, NC

Quality: A (see problems below)

Lineage:
Teac VR-20 Recorder with built in stereo mics @ 16/44.1 > My Computer > Reaper (for fades, some limiting, and EG) > WAV >
Audacity (for heavy limiting and tracking) > WAVs > FLAC > You.

My recorder has the Tascam DR-08 firmware installed so I can record at 24/96 if I desire. It's really easy.
Visit hackaday.com for the instructons if you wish.

I am hearing imparied and don't hear much over 10k. I had the recorder in a shirt pocket under another tee-shirt,
so, it was a bit muffled, hence the re-eqing. I cannot find my good Sennheiser headphones anywhere, so I had to use my Bose, whick suck imo, and the audio graph.
Sorry, it's the best I could come up with. If it's a bit bright, just turn down the treble on your system. I think it sounds pretty darn good on
my system which is a bit bright to begin with. :)

This was the first show I have ever taped! Whoo-hoo!! We were sitting in row 4 directly in front of the right side array and sub.
As I expected, the sound was phenomenal, and the mix was as perfect as can be and this recording, although it sounds pretty good doesn't
do it justice at all. Go see Steely Dan. Period.

Problems: Well, you will hear me whoo-hooing at the end of each song. That's the only reason I used the limiter. Also, there is a bit of rustling
noise when I was applauding (as quiet as I could too!) and when I pulled the recorder out a few times to check battery life.
You can hear my redneck sounding ass talking to my wife quite a few times. Also, I had to change batteries and missed the intro to Reein' In The Years. No biggie though.
And yes, I truly believe they went back to huff some oxygen. Lol!

I learned a lot from this.
1. Change batteries before the main act. If I hadn't recorded the opening act I would have been fine.
2. Don't put the recorder under a shirt unless you absolutely have to.
3. Don't applaud or let you wife talk to you during the show.

Anyways, I had a lot of fun with this. Enjoy!!

Obviously, do not sell this or convert to lossy formats unless it's for your own use.

Peace out!
